Staterooms

Staterooms, staterooms… Well, let me tell you one thing: they are NOT hotel rooms!!!!! That’s the one thing many people expect, a nice large room, plenty of bathroom and closet space. That is NOT so. The average Inside-Balcony room is probably 100-400 Square Feet. Don’t be surprised if you bend down to get the soap you dropped, and you’re not able to get back up! The rooms are pretty small, unless they are suites. The four categories of staterooms are Inside, Ocean View, Balcony, and Suites.
The Inside staterooms are the smallest, yet the most inexpensive. If you know you get sea sick, this room type, (towards the middle of the ship), would be good. If you’re putting 3+ people into the room, though, I might suggest an Ocean View, just for a little bit more room.
Next, the Ocean Views. They are basically the same as the interior staterooms, except for the small window, and they are a bit larger then interior staterooms.
Next come Balcony Staterooms. They are great for somebody who wants the next-up, but doesn’t want to spend around 2 grand for a suite.  They are often a lot larger than an Ocean View, including the balcony. The balcony itself often has a small table and chairs.

Finally, you have the suites. There are often up to 10 different kinds of suites on ships. The larger ships and companies often have the biggest variety. Sometimes, you can even get a baby grand piano! Why you would want that, I’m not sure… Unless, that is, you’re Edward Cullen. Suites are also the most expensive, and can be very large, over 2,000 square feet in some cases!
