Dress Codes

Majority of the cruise lines do have dress codes. While simply walking around the ship, you can wear practically anything you want. While dining, however, there are dress codes!  For some reason, cruise lines appear to hate to send people away, but remember: if you do break the dress code, you could be turned away. On a week long cruise, most companies have 1 or 2 formal nights. clothesUsually, this means a cocktail dress for women and a tux (you could try to get away with a suit- at your own ris) for men. On Formal nights, you can go casual in restaurants or buffets (like the one Carnival has on their Lido deck). Casual dress is not exactly what you may think. For men, slacks and sport shirts is the us’ and sundresses or pants for women. Some cruise lines have ‘smart casual’ or ‘semi-formal’: jackets/ties for men, dresses pantsuits for women. Many ships have Tuxedo rentals aboard. In all cases, jsut try to stick with the ship’s dress code.
