Dining

A cruise ship is like a theme park or airport- they have you captive. There’s no way out- you’re forced to eat their food. victory-cruise-dining-room Cruise companies can basically serve you what ever you want- you’ve going to have to eat! Some cruise lines have specialty restaurants, such as the Palo, an adult-only restaurant on the Disney Cruise Line. These specialty restaurants sometimes have an extra charge (surcharge), but are higher class. Cruise lines usually have dining dress codes, but each line differs. Usually, cruises 5+ nights will have an assortment of casual and formal nights. Note that ‘casual’ does not necessarily mean shorts and tees. Dining experiences will vary by the company. On cruise lines such as Carnival, you will have a set group of diners. Often you will have a table (seating 4-12), and be eating with strangers. This is a wonderful way to make friends! Your ship will also assign you a set eating time. Usually there are 2 or 3 time periods. When you first board the ship, and do not now when you’re eating, you can go to guest services to get the information. At guest services, you can also (sometimes) change you’re table-mates and time. Dining on a cruise ship can be a very enjoyable experience!
